Jason Phillips

Jason is from Hillsville, Virginia. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech in 2001. He joined the lab in August of 2002 as a System/Database Administrator and Programmer.

Jason is involved with numerous projects, including the Phytome database, support for genome investigations in Mimulus, Physalis and tomato, and development of software for mapping and comparative mapping.

Outside of the lab, Jason is a performer and teacher of traditional music and dance of the Upper Southern Appalachians. His instruments of choice are fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar -- with a desire to get a banjo-ukele ASAP. He loves to play (in order of preference) for friends, benefits, and cold hard cash.

Yun received her M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida in 2004. She worked at UNC's Gene Therapy Center prior to joining the Vision lab in January 2007 as a Computer System Administrator and Programmer.
